I’ve been struggling with finding a resource to teach my newly turned 4-year old science and geography. So far, I’ve been coming up with activities on my own or viewing YouTube videos on different topics. But what I really want is a done-for-you curriculum that I can implement with little to no preparation. While I’d love to spend hours preparing curriculum for my kids, I just don’t have the time since I also work outside of the home. So I’m always looking for products that I can use straight out of the box.
Well, I’m happy to report that I’ve found a great (and very inexpensive) resource for both of these subject areas. Evan-Moor is a company that’s been around since 1979 and has produced over 500 titles for students in Pre-K to 8. I’m so happy to have found this resource since many of the titles are short, daily lessons in all the core curriculum subjects.
If you have more than one child, another great thing about these products is that they are reproducible! I love the fact that I’ll be able to use these workbooks with my 1-year old when he’s old enough.
After looking around on their site (most are sold on Amazon Prime), I decided to invest in the following titles: Beginning Geography and Read and Understand Science (K-2). I also plan on purchasing some of the daily review books, namely reading comprehension, language review and 6-trait writing. The daily books I reviewed are great since they have short lessons organized by each day of the week so there’s really little to no preparation at all. You just open the book and get started.
